Sports prosthesis

Sports arm prosthesis

A forearm structure made to measure and terminals you swap in seconds, without tools, to train strength, floor work, boxing or cycling.
Limbium sports prosthetic arms in six colours, perspective view
  • Made to measure

Socket designed from a 3D scan of your residual limb and a structure in the length you need.

  • Swap terminals in seconds

Press a button, take one out and click in the next. No tools, no loose parts.

  • 8 positions

The octagonal connection lets you fit the terminal every 45° to match each exercise.

  • Six colours

Black, blue, yellow, red, lime or white: sports equipment, not a medical gadget.

Sports equipment

Don't adapt your sport to the prosthesis

For years, many people with upper-limb amputation have had to train with general-use prostheses or improvised fixes. Our sports prosthesis starts from the opposite idea: just as you choose shoes or a bike for your activity, the terminal should match the movement you want to make.

That is why we combine a custom socket, a modular forearm structure and terminals designed for each discipline. Every case is assessed individually with your clinic and the professionals who support you.

In 3D

Build it yourself

Rotate the prosthesis, zoom in and try the terminals: fit them, swap them, use the grip with a dumbbell, a bar or a cable pulley and clip onto the bike. The hand or wrist prosthesis is here too, with its built-in grip.

Modular

One prosthesis for everything

You do not need a prosthesis for each sport: one custom socket and terminals that swap in seconds.
  • One socket, every workout

We 3D-scan your residual limb and make the socket and forearm structure to measure. On that same prosthesis you fit the grip, flat support, boxing or bike terminal; with the extension terminal it also works without an elbow.

  • Terminals that swap in seconds

Take one terminal out and click in the next: no tools, no loose parts and no need to touch the socket. Go from the bar to the floor or the bag between sets.

  • Octagonal connection

Terminals click onto an octagon with 8 positions, one every 45°, so you choose the grip angle that suits each exercise.

Six colours

Choose yours.

The body of the prosthesis is black with a front stripe in the colour you choose. The grip and the support terminal come in the same colours.

Hand and wrist

Made to measure for hand and wrist too

If your amputation or limb difference is at hand or wrist level, we design the grip from a 3D scan of your arm. Every case is assessed individually.

Who it is for

Is it right for me?

Three kinds of people use it: those who want to train, those who compete and those who exercise to recover.

    Exercise for your rehabilitation

If you are recovering from an injury, surgery or a recent amputation, exercise helps you regain strength, mobility and symmetry. With controlled movements and always following your physiotherapist or rehabilitation doctor.

    • Physiotherapy
    • Controlled exercise
    • Posture and symmetry

Works with

  • Amputation or congenital absence of the hand, wrist or forearm.
  • Above the elbow, with the extension terminal.
  • Children and teenagers, supervised and with reviews as they grow.

The right set-up depends on your amputation level, your residual limb, the sport and how hard you train. That is why everything starts with an individual assessment.

Use and care

Train safely

  • Before training, check that the terminal is firmly attached with no play.
  • Swap terminals with no weight attached and outside the exercise.
  • Clean it after each use with a damp cloth and mild soap, especially the connection.
  • It withstands sweat and water splashes, but must not be submerged.
  • It is not for climbing or for hanging from it.
  • Have it checked once a year by your orthotic clinic or by us, or sooner if you notice anything unusual.

When you receive your prosthesis we give you its full instructions for use.

Funding

Could it be free for me?

Depending on your case, your prosthesis may be fully funded. It depends on the type of prosthesis, your situation and who funds it. We review it with you at no cost before talking about price.

FAQ

Questions about the sports prosthesis

Can I change the terminal myself?

Yes. No tools are needed: press the button on the structure, take the terminal out and click in the next one by aligning the octagonal connection. Always do it without any load attached.

Does it work if I have no elbow?

Yes. For amputations above the elbow we make a custom extension terminal that places the sports terminal in a functional position and improves symmetry.

Can I swim with it?

Not yet. The current sports prosthesis must not be submerged; it withstands sweat and splashes. We are developing a dedicated swimming terminal.

Can I ride a bike with a prosthetic arm?

Yes, with the cycling terminal: it connects the prosthesis to the handlebar of a compatible bike and gives you a support and steering point so you can pedal with more stability. One part stays fixed to the handlebar and, if you fall, the joint releases.

Is it suitable for weightlifting, CrossFit and functional training?

For much of it, yes: bars, dumbbells, kettlebells and cables with the grip terminal, and push-ups or planks with the flat support terminal. Each exercise is assessed with you; start with moderate loads and progress gradually.

Do you make sports arm prostheses for children?

Yes. We make custom prostheses for children and people with congenital limb differences, and plan the reviews and socket changes that growth requires.

Is it suitable for full-contact boxing?

The boxing terminal is designed for bag and pad training. It is not designed for sparring or fighting another person.

Which sports can I do?

Strength training with bars, dumbbells, machines and cables; floor work such as push-ups, planks, yoga or pilates; bag boxing and cycling. If your sport is not on the list, tell us: we develop new solutions with athletes.
